On what he likes about Chase Monroe

"Monroe is a hard worker and a physical inside backer who makes a ton of tackles. He gets good depth in his drops so he is a factor in the passing game and reads the quarterback well, shrinking the passing zone. He has good instincts that make up for a lack of length and overall size, and he’s more of an anticipatory tackler than a guy who runs things down. He knows where to be and is around the ball a lot. He’s a bit stiff in his hips which hinders his change of direction and quick twitch ability, but he can make up for it with his vision and football IQ."

On what he likes about Wake Forest's 2017 class

"It’s an interesting class because it’s not loaded with highly ranked kids but more so guys who play with a chip on their shoulder. Many of these guys were overlooked in state and by bigger programs, so that should be something that helps them down the line, that underdog mentality. I like the defense, especially the linebackers and Simon at DB, and it’s a quick class although it lacks size overall."
