Source: Elko closing in on deal with Notre Dame
A source close to the situation has informed DeaconsIllustrated.com that Wake Forest Defensive Coordinator Mike Elko is close to finalizing a deal to become the Notre Dame Defensive Coordinator.
Elko has become a very popular name in the last couple of weeks as DC spots have come available.
Elko lead the Wake Forest defense that was the nation's No. 20 scoring defense and was ranked in the top 15 of other major statistical categories. He had previous stints at Bowling Green, Hofstra, Richmond, Fordham, and others.
