Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 1,500 yards and scored two dozen touchdowns in the fall, and now that his film is getting out, offers are rolling in.
The running back out of Dalton (Ga.) has added 15 offers since the new year rolled in and he is closing in on 20 total. Georgia Tech, Michigan, Missouri, South Carolina, Syracuse and Texas A&M are some of his most recent offers.
He has taken a handful of visits already this year and he has two more coming up this weekend. A pair of ACC schools have made strong impressions early on.
IN HIS OWN WORDS
"Out of my offers, North Carolina and Wake Forest have stood out to me the most," said Gibbs. "I was at North Carolina last weekend and I visited Wake Forest in January. I had a good time at both schools.
"There are not too many differences. I like how much interest both schools have in me, I like the environment at each school, the coaches made me feel important too. The coaches from each school have stayed in contact with me and they both stand out right now. The only difference is that the campus at UNC is bigger and more spread out. I like how close and tight everything is at Wake Forest.
"I will be at Georgia Tech Friday and it will be my first time. I am just looking to see if I get a good vibe and a good vibe from the visit and the coaches. I have been talking to coach Choice a lot and we get along well. He sends me Bible verses every couple of days and I know relationships are important to him.
"I have been talking to coach McGee and when I visit Georgia, it will be my first time there too. If I get an offer from them, it would be very big for me. We will see how it goes.
"I am just visiting all the schools that I can right now. I do not know when I will commit to a school. It could happen any time really."
RIVALS REACTION
This weekend will be big for Gibbs. He will visit two in-state schools, one has offered, one has not. Georgia was his childhood dream school and he said if the Bulldogs offered, then that could lead to tears. This will be his first visit to Georgia Tech as well, so Geoff Collins and his staff will have the chance to make their move. Visits are very important to Gibbs because he is looking for that feeling. When he has it, his recruitment will come to an end.
