Deacons sign 4-star center Sarr

French four-star center Olivier Sarr signed with Wake Forest on the first day of the late signing period Wednesday. Demon Deacons head coach Danny Manning was pleased to announce the signing on Wednesday.

“Olivier brings a level of athleticism and shot-blocking that will open some eyes,” said Manning. “He has a good offensive skill set, but he is still young and will need to develop and get stronger, like any freshman. We are really excited about his potential and what he will bring to our program. Olivier is a great kid who comes from a great family and is a great fit for us across the board.”

Sarr visited Winston-Salem in February along with California, Vanderbilt and Central Florida. Click here to read about his visit to Wake.

With rising junior John Collins still evaluating his options regarding the NBA draft, Sarr is a welcomed addition for Wake Forest given his versatility. He is the third signee for the 2017 class joining four-star guard Chaundee Brown and three-star forward Melo Eggleston.
