Chase returns to team

Deacons Illustrated confirmed with a source close to the Wake Forest Football Program that Steven Chase has returned to the team after being dismissed in March for violating an unspecified university policy.
The source said the 6-foot-7 and 305-pound redshirt junior offensive tackle from Frederick, Md. is enrolled at Wake, taking summer classes, participating in offseason workouts and will be a full-go for training camp in August.

Chase, who started three games last season, will have to earn is way back into the rotation. He will have competition from Frank Souza for the starting left tackle spot.
Souza moved from nose guard in the spring, and has impressed new offensive line coach Jonathan Himebauch.
At the very least Chase will bring depth and experience to a young Demon Deacon offensive line.
