Wake Forest Posts 84-79 Exhibition Win at Brock

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Five Wake Forest players scored in double figures, led by Tyler Cavanaugh and C.J. Harris with 16 apiece, as the Demon Deacons used a balanced attack to pull away from Brock University for an 84-79 exhibition win on Friday evening at Davis Gymnasium.
In addition to Cavanaugh and Harris, Arnaud William Adala Moto (11 points), Madison Jones (10) and Travis McKie (10) were also in double figures. Codi Miller-McIntyre was not far behind with nine points.

Cavanaugh led the team with nine rebounds, including six on the offensive end. McKie, Moto and Daniel Green had five boards apiece.
Harris led the Deacons with five assists, while Jones dished out four.
Cavanaugh scored 15 of his 16 points in the first half to spur a Wake Forest rally that erased a five-point deficit late in the first quarter.
The Deacons pushed their lead to as much as 13 in the first half and took a 50-39 advantage into the locker room.
Brock would not no go quietly in the second half, pulling to within six at 55-49 midway through the third quarter.
Wake Forest led by 17, 73-56, at the end of the third quarter, but Brock battled back to get as close as four with under 30 seconds to play. Harris hit 3-of-4 free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal the win.
Mark Gibson scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Badgers.
The Deacons were playing without forward Devin Thomas and center Andre Washington, who both missed the game due to injury.
The game was played using international rules, which include a 24-second shot clock, four 10-minute quarters, relaxed goaltending regulations and different restrictions on timeouts and free throws procedures.
Wake Forest will play its second and final game of the trip on Saturday at Ryerson. The Deacons and Rams will tip off at 7 p.m. EDT at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, which was the home of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs from 1931-99.
