Price, Wilber earn ACC Player of the Week honors

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore quarterback Tanner Price and senior outside linebacker Kyle Wilber were among eight players honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference as Players of the Week on Monday.
Price, a 6-2, 205-pound sophomore from Austin, Texas (Westlake) completed 22 of 35 passes for 297 yards and one touchdown in leading Wake Forest to a 34-27 win over North Carolina State on Sept. 10. Price threw a 31-yard scoring pass to Michael Campanaro in the first quarter to put Wake Forest ahead 7-0. He completed 10 of 12 passes for 130 yards in the first quarter as Wake Forest built a 10-0 lead. Price has thrown for 586 yards in his first two starts of the 2011 season.

Wilber, a 6-5, 240-pound redshirt senior from Apopka, Fla. (Apopka) recorded seven tackles against NC State including five solo stops and two assists. He also forced a fumble and had a half-tackle for loss.
This represents Price's second ACC Player of the Week honor. He was named the ACC Rookie of the Week in 2010 after throwing three touchdown passes in leading the Deacons to a 54-48 win over Duke.
Wake Forest will host Gardner-Webb at BB&T Field at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17.
