Givens earns ACC Player of the Week honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest wide receiver Chris Givens has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Receiver of the Week after his performance at Boston College on Saturday.
Givens, a 6-0, 195-pound redshirt junior from Wylie, Texas, caught seven passes for 132 yards and one touchdown in Wake Forest's 27-19 win over Boston College on Saturday. Givens caught a 47-yard scoring pass from Tanner Price early in the third quarter. Givens also caught a 36-yard pass from flanker Michael Campanaro that set up Wake Forest's final field goal. Givens made the catch despite triple coverage and a defensive pass interference call against BC.

Givens' 498 yards receiving through four games is the most-ever by a Wake Forest receiver through four games.
The junior now ranks tied for 19th in Wake Forest history with 107 career receptions, 13th with 1,641 career receiving yards, and sixth with 16 touchdown receptions. In addition, Givens has caught a pass in 19 consecutive games.
