Givens earns ACC Player of the Week honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest wide receiver Chris Givens, who had two touchdown catches against Duke on Saturday, has been named the ACC Receiver of the Week.
Givens, a 6-0, 195-pound redshirt junior from Wylie, Texas (Wylie) caught six passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns in Wake Forest's 24-23 win at Duke. Givens caught a 26-yard scoring pass from quarterback Tanner Price that put the Deacons ahead 7-0 in the first quarter. After Wake Forest fell behind 23-17 in the fourth quarter, Givens caught a pass on a curl route and turned it into a 66-yard touchdown catch, avoiding blockers and side-stepping a diving defender.

Five of his six catches vs. Duke resulted in first downs. In addition, Givens rushed the ball once for 13 yards and a first down.
Givens recorded his 23rd straight game with a reception, tied a school record with his fourth consecutive 100-yard receiving game, and also caught a scoring pass for the fifth straight game.
On the season, Givens has 46 receptions for 886 yards and eight touchdowns. For his career, he has 126 receptions for 2,029 yards and 20 touchdowns. Givens is just the eighth Deacon to clear the 2,000-yard mark in career receiving yards.
This is the third time this season that Givens has earned ACC Receiver of the Week honors.
