Christian Beal enrolls at Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest head football coach Dave Clawson today announced that Christian Beal, a running back from Kernersville, NC (East Forsyth High) has enrolled at Wake Forest for the spring semester. A three-time All-Northwest selection, Beal will begin his freshman year this week and will participate in spring ball which begins next month.

Beal, a 5-10, 180-pound all-purpose back, was a member of the North Carolina team in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas in December.

A versatile playmaker who saw action at six different positions while playing for Coach Todd Willert at East Forsyth, Beal was a four-year letterman who helped lead the Eagles deep into the state playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

Beal is ranked as the No. 2 running back in the state by Scout and is a consensus three-star prospect by Scout, Rivals and 247.

While rushing for over 1,200 yards in each of last three seasons, Beal established himself as a high caliber receiver and return specialist.

Beal is the son of Nikia Beal and Robbin Smith. He was born March 6, 1999.

Beal is the lone early enrollee in the 2017 class. Last year, there were six who enrolled early including RB Cade Carney, P Dom Maggio, S Traveon Redd, WR Jeremiah Brown, QB Jamie Newman and TE Brandon Chapman.
