Last Game
Notre Dame: QB Everett Golson ran for a touchdown and threw for two more to lead the Fighting Irish, who remained in the hunt for the national championship with Saturday night's road win at Chestnut Hill before a national television audience. BC QB Chase Rettig completed 27 of 34 passes for 247 yards for Boston College (2-8). WR Alex Amidon caught six passes for 84 yards to break the school's single-season record for receiving yards. Wake Forest: The Wolfpack earned bowl eligibility in defeating the visiting Demon Deacons. Freshman RB Shadrach Thornton ran for 110 yards on 27 carries to lead the ground attack. Wake Forest's lone touchdown came on a 39-yard pass from Michael Campanaro to fellow WR Terence Davis, but it wasn't enough against NC State, which remained in control after taking a 17-0 lead in the opening quarter. Final Score: N.C. State 37, Wake Forest 6

Notre Dame-Wake Forest Notes
ND: Everett Golson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another in Notre Dame's win over Boston College on Saturday night.

ND: Senior LB Manti Te'o recorded his team-leading sixth interception of the season at Boston College. Te'o broke the school record for most interceptions in a season by a Notre Dame linebacker. He ranks second in the FBS in interceptions and first among all linebackers. Only one FBS linebacker over the last 11 years has recorded more interceptions in a season than Te'o.

ND: Senior TE Tyler Eifert needs five catches to break Ken MacAfee's 35-year school record for most career receptions by a Notre Dame tight end. Eifert's 124 career catches and 1,625 career receiving yards rank second in school history behind MacAfee's 128 receptions for 1,759 yards.

ND: Sophomore QB Everett Golson is tied for the fourth-best start to a career by a Notre Dame quarterback. Golson's 8-0 record as a starter is tied with Terry Hanratty (1966) and trails only Kevin McDougal (9-0 in 1993), Frank Tripucka (1948) and Bob Williams (11-0 in 1949-50).

ND: Sophomore DE Stephon Tuitt ranks second in school history with 11 sacks this season. He is tied for fourth nationally in total sacks and tops among underclassmen (freshmen or sophomores). Only two FBS underclassmen since 2005 have averaged more sacks per game than Tuitt currently is averaging.

ND: Notre Dame is the one team in the FBS that has not allowed a touchdown drive longer than 75 yards. In fact, of the 93 opponent drives that started at or inside their 40-yard line, only one drive resulted in a touchdown, fewest of any FBS team.

WFU: Wake Forest WR Terence Davis had four catches for 66 yards, including a 39-yard touchdown reception, against NC State last Saturday.

WFU: The Deacons are in search of their sixth win which would make them bowl eligible for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.

WFU: Wake Forest is 1-32 all-time against teams ranked in the top five and have lost 31 straight.

WFU: Wake Forest and Notre Dame share one common opponent in Boston College. The Deacons defeated the Eagles 28-14 at BB&T Field on Nov. 3 while the Irish topped BC 21-6 last Saturday in Chestnut Hill.
