March 8, 2013Norcross (Ga.) rising senior inside linebacker Kevin Mouhon's list of scholarship offers is up to 11 after Ole Miss joined it last week, competing with the likes of Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Tennessee and Wake Forest.
"I kind of know a little bit about them [Ole Miss]," Mouhon said. "I know that [Robert] Nkemdiche's going there. I just want to figure out more about the program."
"I'm trying to give every school an opportunity whether it's instate or out of state."
That gives Wake a chance, but only time will tell how big of a one it is.
Wake Forest signed two inside linebackers in the previous recruiting class, but Demon Deacon defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Brian Knorr is looking to add more.
The Deacs enjoyed success recruiting in Georgia, signing four players from the Peach State, but Knorr will have a steep hill to climb if he hopes to get Mouhon to ink with Wake.
"I already got Tennessee in my top five," Mouhon said. "They're the only school I'm certain that they're in my top five. I can't really say [what other schools are in my top five]. I already know most of them [Tennessee coaches] since they coached at Cincinnati where my brother [Silverberry Mouhon] plays at. I feel comfortable over there [at UT]."
The 6-foot-2, 224-pound Peach State product, who is rated as a four-star recruit and the nation's No. 240 overall prospect, has the most contact with Tennessee and Arkansas. Mouhon plans to make a trip to Fayetteville.
Mouhon, who runs track, may have a difficult time scheduling visits in the spring, but should have more leeway for trips during the summer.
"I don't know if I'm going to go to any camps," Mouhon said. "I'm probably just going to visit some schools that I already got offers from."
He wants a school he feels comfortable at, that offers a great education, has a coaching staff he gets along with and loyal fans.
Mouhon, who brings aggression and passion to the gridiron, has a nose for the football, making him a coveted recruit for 2014.
