Virgile says yes to Wake
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas outside linebacker committed to Wake Forest during an in-home visit from Demon Deacon head coach Jim Grobe Tuesday, Dec. 11.
"COMMITED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF WAKE FOREST!!! #FutureDeac," Virgile tweeted.
Virgile, who is rated as a three-star recruit and the nation's No. 53 outside linebacker, chose Wake over scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Central Florida, East Carolina, Florida International, Houston, Louisiana Lafayette, Louisville, Miami (Ohio), NC State and West Virginia.
Derrick Jackson was Virgile's primary recruiter for the Demon Deacs.
"Him [Jackson] and me we want to be in the same with each other," Virgile said in a prior interview with Deacons Illustrated. "As him as my coach and me as his player I feel like a lot of great things would happen. He's prepped a lot of players to play at many places that he's been, including Wake Forest. I feel like I would work really hard to play with him, and we'll go far with the outside linebacker crew."
"It's [Wake] a great school, and I could see myself doing really well at Wake Forest and for football and maybe even cross it over to go to the NFL. They have a lot of Florida players. One of their players Kevis Jones is one of my teammate's Godbrother."
