Reed goes silent
Princeton (NJ) Day School small forward Davon Reed informed Deacons Illustrated he will not comment on his recruitment until he is ready to commit.
Reed, who is rated as a four-star recruit and the nation's No. 97 overall prospect by Rivals.com, tweeted on Friday, Sept. 14 that he will choose a school by the end of the fall.
The 6-foot-6 and 190-pound swingman has Miami (Fla.), Wake Forest and Xavier in his final three.
"I just want to get a feel for what the campus life is about, see how my classes will be, class-size, see what the actual players' relationship with the teachers are, see what their relationship is with the coach, see what the workouts are like and just clear up any questions I have with the program," Reed said in a prior interview with Deacons Illustrated.
"I think I have an idea right now of what I like most about each of them. I'm at the final three of my programs. I'm thinking taking an official visit will really just point me in the right direction and allow me to get a feel for the campus and then add that on top of what I already feel for these programs and make my decision from there."
A source close to the Demon Deacons basketball program told Deacons Illustrated that Reed's official visit to Wake went well last weekend.
Reed hosted the Hurricanes for an in-home visit Monday, Sept. 10, the Garden State product would not comment on how it went or his time spent in Winston-Salem. He is in now in Coral Gables for an official visit to Miami (Fla.).
A trip to Xavier for Oct. 4-5 is next on Reed's schedule.
