Meet Germaine Pratt
Ben Doster
DeaconsIllustrated.com High Point (NC) Central junior strong safety Germaine Pratt may be a household in name recruiting circles by the end of this season.
In four games Pratt has recorded 35 tackles (23 solo, 12 solo), a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception and four pass breakups, helping to lead the Bison to a 3-1 record.
"I can read well," Pratt said. "I like to tackle."
Pratt said NC State, Notre Dame, Virginia and Wake Forest have each offered him a scholarship.
The 6-foot-3 and 190-pound 2014 Tar Heel State prospect added NC State, Notre Dame, Virginia and Wake Forest have offered him a scholarship.
"It's too early [in my recruitment]," Pratt said. "I don't know [which school is my favorite] yet. [I'm looking for] a good football program, like a good coaching staff, good chemistry with the team, just make me feel comfortable really."
Ray McCartney is Pratt's primary recruiter for the Demon Deacons.
"I talk to him the other day, I think Thursday night [Sept. 6]," Pratt said. "We're getting to know each other well."
Pratt added he and McCartney are developing a good relationship. He also enjoyed his visit to Wake during its football camp.
"They have good coaches," Pratt said. "Wake Forest told me I might play outside linebacker. I think it would probably be good, because we do a coverage blue sometimes where I go down like as an outside linebacker."
He has also been in contact with NC State assistant coach Mike Reed and Notre Dame assistant coach Mike Elston.
Clemson is the only school Pratt has been to. "It was good," Pratt said of his visit to Clemson.
Pratt had a good time with Clemson co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Charlie Harbison during his trip there.
He does not plant to have his recruitment wrapped up until signing day of his senior year.
